This project was to create a showpiece staircase to a newly fully refurbished home in Hexham. The job of this staircase was to be a stand out feature. The open tread design lets light shine through from the spotlight above, and also gives a feeling of space to a relatively small hallway.
European oak with a clear stain was applied to give a degree of richness to the material and also to protect the natural wood from usage.
The staircase is leading to a loft conversion, so was designed to take up a little space on the first floor landing as possible. A quarter landing at the bottom and quarter turn winder to the top section was created, which is both practical in terms of space taken, as well as looking great from both above and below.
