Victorian Terrace Dormer

This Victorian property featured a beautiful original dormer window that, although a stunning piece of heritage, required an upgrade to meet the demands of contemporary living. The project presented several challenges. Firstly, the dormer needed to be replicated in design, retaining its character and historical charm whilst also incorporating modern features, including double glazing for insulation and draft seals for increased comfort.

To enhance the dormer’s aesthetic appeal, we custom-made decorative fascia boards. These not only added a touch of elegance but also reinforced the Victorian character of the property. Given the dormer’s originality, it required some structural attention. The team undertook the delicate task of repairing the rotten roof timbers. This involved not only preserving the dormer’s appearance but also ensuring the safety and integrity of the structure.

The final result was a dormer window that retained its Victorian character, providing both aesthetic beauty and practical comfort.
