Bespoke wooden stools by Richard James joinery

One of our projects that we are working on this week, is four bespoke wooden kitchen stools for a home in Hexham, Northumberland. The stools legs and supports are made from Sepele which is a tropical hardwood. The top of each stool is made from European Oak.

The stool pictured was an oversized prototype, taken to the customers home to try it out against there new kitchen island. Our customer felt that the overall weight was too heavy and have asked us to reduce it by 33%. We have now reduced the diameter of the legs and supports. We have also reduced both the circumference and depth of the Oak top in order to meet the customers requirements.

The finish that the customer has chosen, is for the legs and supports to be painted with colour matched, Farrow and ball “Wimbourne white” and the tops stained with Danish oil to match their new kitchen counter.

We look forward to sharing the end results!
